Feeder Fishing: Choosing the Right Rod
The Art of Feeder Fishing: Choosing the Right Feeder Rod
Feeder fishing is a popular and effective method for catching big coarse fish like bream, carp, and tench. The key to success lies in having the right gear, and no piece of equipment is more important than the feeder rod itself. At North East Tackle Supplies, we offer a wide selection of top-quality feeder rods to suit every angler's needs and budget.
What Makes a Great Feeder Rod?
A great feeder rod should have several key characteristics:
- Sensitivity - The tip needs to be soft enough to register delicate bites
- Power - The butt section must have enough backbone to cast heavy feeders and battle hard-fighting fish
- Action - Fast or progressive action helps cast accurately and set the hook quickly
- Length - Longer rods provide better casting distance; shorter rods offer more control
North East Tackle carries trusted brands known for making exceptional feeder rods, including Drennan, Shimano, and Nytro. Let's take a closer look at some of their standout models.
