Daiwa BG 6500 Reel

Daiwa BG 6500: The Ultimate Spinning Reel for Saltwater and Freshwater Fishing

When it comes to choosing a high-performance spinning reel for a variety of fishing applications, the Daiwa BG 6500 stands out from the competition. As part of Daiwa's renowned BG series of saltwater spinning reels, the BG 6500 offers the durability, power, and smooth operation serious anglers demand, whether fishing inshore, offshore, or targeting trophy fish in freshwater.

Built Tough to Handle the Elements

The Daiwa BG 6500 sports a black anodized machined aluminum housing that resists corrosion in harsh saltwater environments. The ""Hard Bodyz"" body and side cover provide exceptional strength while keeping the reel lightweight and comfortable to use all day long. You can count on the BG 6500 to stand up to the rigors of saltwater and freshwater fishing year after year.

Powerful and Smooth Operation

At the heart of the BG 6500 is Daiwa's oversized Digigear system. The digitally-optimized gears mesh perfectly together for smooth, powerful retrieves and impressive cranking power. The reel's 5.3:1 gear ratio and 48.7 inches of line pickup per handle turn allow you to quickly take up slack and keep the pressure on hard-fighting game fish.

The Air Rotor and dynamic cut aluminum ABS spool further enhance the BG 6500's performance by reducing weight while maintaining strength. The Air Rotor is designed to be more rigid than standard rotors, eliminating flex and twisting under heavy loads. The expertly-designed spool facilitates longer casts, and its braided line ready rubber inlay lets you tie braid directly to the spool without the need for backing.

Waterproof, Powerful Drag

When you hook into a big fish, the BG 6500's waterproof carbon ATD drag system is ready for battle. With a max drag of 33 pounds, this reel has the stopping power to subdue powerful saltwater species like striped bass, redfish, and tarpon, as well as heavyweight freshwater fighters like muskie and trophy catfish. The carbon washers are specially treated to resist water intrusion, ensuring consistent drag pressure in all conditions.

Packed with Angler-Friendly Features

The Daiwa BG 6500 is loaded with features that enhance its performance and ease of use:

• 6+1 ball bearings for smooth operation
• Infinite Dual Anti-Reverse for instant, solid hooksets
• Screw-in machined aluminum handle for a solid feel and reduced play
• Manual return bail for added durability on larger models (4500 and up)

Versatile Enough for Any Fishing Adventure

Whether you're casting plugs for stripers, soaking live bait for grouper, or trolling for monster pike, the Daiwa BG 6500 has the strength and capability to handle a wide range of fishing techniques and species. It's the perfect choice for anglers who demand top-tier performance across the board.

The Daiwa BG 6500 spinning reel delivers the ultimate combination of strength, smoothness, and versatility for anglers who refuse to compromise on quality.
